Environmental Ethics

Environmental ethics is a novel branch of applied ethics, which is concerned with how human beings should treat Earth and the various ecosystems that cover it. This course covers approaches to environmental ethics (e.g. conservation, dominion, and stewardship); issues in environmental ethics (e.g. sustainability, waste management, and climate change); the ideas of key thinkers (e.g. James Lovelock and Arne Næss); debates on environmental ethics; and the legal, social, and religious perspectives in the area. This course is designed for anyone interested in environmental ethics; however, it's specifically linked to specification content for the following qualifications.
